April 6-11, 2026 - Welcome to National Public Health Week 2026! Each day, the School of Public Health will host informative, active and social events centered on one core theme: public health in action. In person and virtual events are scheduled so that on campus and online students all have the opportunity to take part in National Public Health Week.

National Public Health Week | April 6–11, 2026

The University of Memphis School of Public Health (SPH) is proud to join the nationwide celebration of National Public Health Week (NPHW), April 6-11, 2026 with a series of engaging and educational activities designed to promote health and wellness.

Day 1: UofM Bridge Walk + PH on Wheels

Day 1: UofM Bridge Walk + PH on Wheels

Join Pouncer and the School of Public Health at the Hunter Harrison Memorial Pedestrian Cable Bridge on April 6 at 9:00 AM to kick off our National Public Health Week celebrations. Registered students who sign up for the next PH on Wheels will leave directly from the bridge to go to The Works, Inc Urban Farm.

Day 2: SPH Cookoff + PHSA x SCHD

Watch our Students, Faculty and Staff compete in the inaugural SPH Cookoff at the UofM Food Lab at 9:00 AM. After the cookoff, Public Health Student Association will welcome the Shelby County Health Department from 12:00–2:00 PM in front of the University Center at the Student Activity Plaza (Fountain).

Day 3: Plant and Picnic + Research Workshop

Day 3: Plant and Picnic + Research Workshop

Help beautify the School of Public Health by learning about the latest climate health challenges and solutions from your faculty experts. Take advantage of the shaded picnic tables at the community garden and join us from 10:30–11:45 AM. The SPH Office of Research is hosting a workshop on Smartsheet in Action from 12:00–1:00 PM in the UC River Room.

Day 4: SPH Meet-and-Greet + Yoga

Want to learn more about the School of Public Health? Join us from 11:00 AM–2:00 PM at UC Alumni Lawn 2 and meet the faculty, staff and students who #SPH-CARES. Our Epidemiology, Biostatistics and Environmental Health division are hosting a Colloquium from 11:00–12:00 PM at UC River Room. Stick around for Yoga on the UC Alumni Lawn 2 from 1:00–2:00 PM. Bring your sunscreen, water bottle, yoga mat or beach towel.

Day 5: Friendship Friday Walk

De-stress from the week and join us for Friendship Friday—stroll around the Memorial Field track outside of Robison Hall from 12:00–1:00 PM.

Day 6: SPH Family Potluck Picnic

We will celebrate NPHW at Audubon Park, Pavilion #1 with our Annual SPH Family Potluck Picnic. All SPH students, faculty, staff, alums and their families are invited to attend and bring a favorite food to share! There will be plenty of food, fun, friendship, and games for all ages.
