Prof. Mohamed Khalis Joins SPH International Public Health Diplomacy Advisory Group

Prof. Mohamed Khalis has joined the University of Memphis SPH International Public Health Diplomacy Advisory Group, which brings together global health leaders, diplomats and policy experts dedicated to advancing the intersection of public health and international relations.

He is an alumnus of the Fulbright program at the City University of New York, School of Medicine, USA. Over the past twelve years, Dr. Khalis has led and coordinated numerous research projects, in collaboration with national, regional and international partners. He was the PI in several national and international research projects funded by the United Nations Population Fund, World Health Organization, UNICEF, Alliance for Health Policy and Systems Research, La Caixa Foundation, National Institute of Health-USA and the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of Morocco.  

He is also a member in the UM6SS-WHO Knowledge for Health Policies Center at the Mohammed VI University of Health and Sciences. He focused his research on lifestyle, dietary and environmental determinants of health. He is developing new research programs within the Mohammed VI Center of Research and Innovation of Rabat. His research has been published in different top-ranking American and European journals.  

His research mentoring experience includes working with medical, nurse, and public health students and trainees from Morocco, Europe, and the United States. His teaching experience includes academic courses on several health-related topics, such as epidemiology, biostatistics and public health.
