University of Memphis School of Public Health Celebrates 3rd SPH Dean’s Awards

The University of Memphis School of Public Health (SPH) hosted its 3rd SPH Dean’s Awards ceremony, honoring the outstanding contributions of faculty, staff, and students during the 2025–2026 academic year. Twelve individuals were recognized for their exceptional achievements in Community Engagement, Commitment, Research, and Leadership. 
Dr. Marian Levy, Associate Dean of Public Health Practice and Community Engagement, moderated the event and delivered opening remarks. SPH Dean and Distinguished Professor, Dr. Ashish Joshi introduced the ceremony and highlighted the school’s accomplishments over the past year, including new initiatives and key events. SPH leadership also participated in the distribution of the awards, including, Dr. Satish Kedia, Associate Dean of Administration and Faculty Affairs and Professor, Dr. Ilias Kavouras, Assistant Dean of Academic and Student Affairs and Professor, Dr. Maryam Karimi, Director of Research and Associate Professor.   

“The Dean’s SPH Awards serve as an opportunity to reflect on the phenomenal work our faculty, staff, and students are doing to advance the field of public health,” highlights Dean Ashish Joshi.

These awards honor contributions to the school, to public health practice in Memphis and to the local community and beyond.
