Harnessing Innovation: Artificial Intelligence for Academic Public Health Report from ASPPH

Wednesday, 17 June 2026
The AI Framework to Guide Responsible Innovation in Academic Public Health provides a roadmap for the responsible integration of AI across public health education, research, and practice while keeping human judgment, compassion, and public trust at the center.
Acknowledging the profound impact of artificial intelligence on the generation of knowledge, the analysis of data, and decision-making across sectors, the framework outlines strategic priorities within four key pillars: Education; Teaching and Learning; Practice and Research; and Policy, Regulatory, and Architectural Frameworks.
The recommendations call for increased AI literacy, enhanced faculty development, the promotion of responsible and evidence-based research practices, and the preparation of “bridge professionals” capable of integrating technical expertise with leadership priorities and diverse community perspectives.
