UofM SPH Welcomes Senior Scholar Professor Hadi Danawi

The University of Memphis School of Public Health (UofM SPH) would like to welcome our new Senior Scholar, Hadi Danawi, PhD, MPH. Senior Scholars are accomplished leaders in academia and/or industry whose expertise aligns with the public health mission of UofM SPH.
Professor Hadi Danawi is a global public health scholar, epidemiologist, pharmaco-epidemiologist, clinical research leader, and founder of MENASA Group, an ecosystem advancing health equity, clinical research participation, workforce development, and regulatory inclusion for Middle Eastern, North African, and South Asian populations.
With more than 200 publications and two decades of experience in public health education, epidemiology, biostatistics, clinical trials, and global health capacity building, Dr. Danawi’s work bridges academic public health, regulatory science, community engagement, and clinical research infrastructure.
Through the Global MENASA Group, Professor Danawi leads policy, advocacy, training, certification, and global site activation initiatives designed to increase the participation of historically underrepresented populations in clinical research. His work reached more than 3 million healthcare professionals and supported demographic recognition at the federal level, diversity action planning at the USFDA level, subgroup analyses, drug safety profile development, and the preparation of verified healthcare professionals and accredited research sites worldwide.
As a Senior Scholar, Dr. Danawi contributes expertise in global public health, pharmaco-epidemiology, clinical research diversity, health equity, workforce development, global community engagement initiatives and strategic public-private partnerships.
