Office Of Technology Transfer Demo Day to Showcase Emerging University Spinout Companies
Event highlights innovation, commercialization, and startup growth across biotech, AI, healthcare and advanced technologies
The University of Memphis Office of Technology Transfer (OTT) will host Demo Day on
Wednesday, July 8, from 2–4 p.m. at the FedEx Institute of Technology Fishbowl, bringing
together researchers, founders, investors, and industry leaders to celebrate the next
generation of university innovation.

The event will feature six emerging startup companies formed through the University’s Spinout Bootcamp program, each built around innovative University of Memphis intellectual property and focused on transforming research discoveries into market-ready solutions. Attendees will have the opportunity to hear company pitches, meet founders, and explore investment and partnership opportunities across sectors including healthcare, biotechnology, artificial intelligence, biometrics, energy, and advanced manufacturing technologies.
Among the featured ventures is UpCycle Farma, which is developing sustainable animal healthcare solutions for the agriculture industry, and ChromatoCare, a healthcare startup focused on real-time detection of bladder infections to support earlier interventions and reduce dependence on broad-spectrum antibiotics.
Additional companies include Mighty Zebras, which is advancing the first targeted treatment for Hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome and Hypermobility Spectrum Disorders; CuesHub, a biometrics-based platform designed to monitor mental calmness through wearable technology; P3ARL, a patented ultrasonic aerosol system for drug delivery and industrial applications; and Izalco Tech, which provides automated earthquake monitoring and real-time seismic alerts for smart city and emergency response applications.
The showcase reflects the University of Memphis’ growing momentum in research commercialization and entrepreneurship, demonstrating how university-developed technologies are being translated into solutions with real-world impact.
Hosted at the FedEx Institute of Technology, Demo Day underscores the University’s commitment to fostering innovation, supporting startup growth, and strengthening connections between research, industry, and investment communities.
