Call for Proposals
2025–2026 Fine Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences (FAHSS) Support Program
The Division of Research and Innovation invites proposals for the 2025–26 Fine Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences (FAHSS) Support Program, designed to advance scholarly and creative productivity and strengthen pathways to external funding.
This competitive program provides targeted support to faculty producing significant scholarly or creative works that position them for future grant success.

Funding Categories
Applicants may request support in one of the following categories:
- Professional Indexing Grant
- Image Reproduction Fund
- Subvention Grant
- Field Work & Archival Research Grant
The maximum award in any category is $2,500. Applicants may apply to any category using the same submission requirements outlined below.
Submission Materials
Applications must include:
- Curriculum Vitae (maximum five pages)
- Project Description (two pages or less)
- Describe the scholarly work or research activity that will be produced as a result of this funding.
- For indexing, image reproduction, and subvention requests, include details about the published work being supported.
- Contracts or supporting documentation may be included as appendices (appendices count toward page limits).
- External Funding Plan (one page or less)
- Provide a summary of plans to pursue external funding resulting from this work, including potential granting agencies, foundations, or specific grant programs.
- Budget Narrative (one page or less)
- Briefly describe planned expenditures.
- If available, include publisher quotes or cost documentation as an appendix.
Submission Process
All applications must be submitted through the InfoReady Application System (UofM login required).
Deadline: March 30, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. CT
Late submissions will not be considered.
Award Timeline
- Award notifications: April 2026
- Period of performance: One year from award date
