What is the scholarship amount?

Selected undergraduate students will receive a $1,000 Rising Leaders Recognition Award for the academic year, distributed in two equal installments across the fall and spring semesters.

How many spaces are available, and am I eligible?

Each year, up to 100 outstanding student leaders will be selected to receive the Rising Leaders Recognition Award. To qualify, students must:

• • Be currently enrolled as full-time undergraduate students at the University of Memphis main campus

  • Hold a formal leadership position within at least one registered student organization

  • Maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher

  • Be in good academic standing per their RSO's requirements

  • Not be graduating in a summer or fall semester

  • Not be a current or past Rising Leaders recipient

What distinguishes a Rising Leaders Recognition Award recipient?

This award honors undergraduate students who demonstrate exceptional leadership excellence and meaningful contributions to student engagement and campus life. Recipients are recognized for their outstanding impact within registered student organizations and their dedication to enhancing the University of Memphis community through their leadership service.

Can I receive this award more than once?

No. The Rising Leaders Recognition Award is a one-time, non-renewable award. Students who have previously received any version of the Rising Leaders award are not eligible to be nominated again, ensuring that we can recognize and celebrate a broader range of exceptional student leaders across campus.
