Faculty Profile
Dr. Rui Qi is an Assistant Professor of Hospitality and Resort Management and the Director of Graduate Programs for the Kemmons Wilson School of Hospitality and Resort Management at the University of Memphis. She received her Ph.D. in Hospitality Management from the University of South Carolina. Her research focuses on advertising effectiveness, sustainability, and sharing economy. Prior to joining the University of Memphis, she was involved in several funded projects in South Carolina focusing on hospitality tax and tourism industry stakeholders, as well as in tourism planning projects in China. She has taught five different courses and her goals are to help students better understand the unique financial and marketing characteristics of hospitality and tourism and connect the firm perspective with the consumer perspective.
