Our Mission
The Department of Art and Design, located in the College of Communication and Fine Arts, is a vibrant community of individuals who share a passion for art and design. The Department’s mission is to provide students with the skills, knowledge, and critical thinking abilities necessary to become successful artists, designers and scholars in the field. The program values the evolution of art and design over time and place and encourages students to explore and experiment with different media, techniques, and styles.
The Department of Art and Design is located in an urban environment that is rich in cultural history and offers students a unique opportunity to engage with the community and learn from local artists, designers and scholars.
