About Dr. Kofman

 

Dr. Kofman joined the Biology Department in 2026. He has taught courses in General and Introductory Biology, Cell and Molecular Biology, Genetics, Cancer Genetics, Genomics and Bioinformatics for Biologists, Immunology, Virology, Epidemiology, and Hematology.

Doctor of Medicine (S. Kirov Medical Academy, Russia), Ph.D. in Biology (Genetics/Cell Biology), St. Petersburg State University, Russia

Research Interests

  • Human variation biology and computational genomics
  • Emerging aspects of posttranscriptional regulation of gene expression (3’UTR length, cis-acting regulatory elements, nucleotide composition, mRNA secondary structure, and genetic polymorphisms).
