Academic Deferment Appeals Process
Students have the right to submit an Academic Deferment Appeal if they experienced extenuating circumstances beyond their control that occurred after the deadline to withdraw. Appeals must meet the following guidelines:
- Academic Deferment Appeals Open: Thursday, May, 14, 2026
- Academic Deferment Appeal Submission Deadline: All Academic Deferment Appeals must be submitted no later than 11:59 PM on Sunday, August 16, 2026 to be considered for Fall 2026 enrollment. No appeals will be considered for Summer 2026 enrollment.
- Documentation: Students must include supporting documentation to substantiate their appeal and explain the unforeseen, extenuating circumstance(s), and how they were beyond the student’s control.
- Decision Notifications: Sent out no later than 4:30pm on Tuesday, August 18, 2026.
Only appeals meeting the criteria of unforeseen, extenuating circumstances beyond the student’s control occurring after the deadline to withdraw will be approved. Notifications regarding the status of Academic Deferment Appeals will be sent out by 4:30pm on Tuesday, August 18,2026.
