Radiation Safety

Radiation safety encompasses safe use and management of radioactive materials in the laboratory, sealed-sources in university equipment, x-ray devices as well as many other types of ionizing and non-ionizing radiation. The university oversees use of radiation and radioactive materials in research through the Radiation Safety Committee, which meets several times a year to review research protocols. The university radiation safety manual provides guidance on the safe use and management of radiation and radioactive materials on campus.
