Biological Safety

Biological safety encompasses the safe use and management of biological materials in the laboratory. This is accomplished in several ways. EHS has developed a biological safety program for the safe management and use of biological materials; EHS provides training and inspects labs with special attention on biological safety and the university has an Institutional Biosafety Committee that oversees the use of certain microbiological materials.
