Dr. Tauhidul Tanin is an Assistant Professor of Teaching in Finance at the University of Memphis with an active research agenda. He was formerly a Professor of Finance at EGADE Business School, Tecnológico de Monterrey, Mexico, before relocating to the USA as an EB-1A (Extraordinary Ability) Permanent Resident. He earned a PhD in Finance from Monash University, Australia, and has 13 years of academic and industry experience, including roles as a Research Analyst and General Manager of Finance & Business Operations.

Dr. Tanin has published 15 journal articles in leading outlets, including the Journal of Business Ethics, Energy Economics (four articles), British Accounting Review, Journal of Economic Behavior & Organization, International Review of Financial Analysis, Finance Research Letters, International Review of Economics & Finance, and Research in International Business and Finance. Additional studies are currently under review in leading journals.

He has taught Corporate Finance, Banking & Financial Institutions, Personal Finance, Introduction to Finance, Analytical Foundations, and Probability & Statistics to BBA, MS, MBA, and PhD students from more than 30 countries in in-person, online, and hybrid formats and has consistently earned strong teaching evaluations. His teaching emphasizes the integration of financial theory, data analytics, and real-world problem solving.

He serves on the Editorial Board of the American Business Review, reviews for 16 academic journals (e.g., Research Policy), and mentors scholars at the faculty, postdoctoral, PhD, MBA, MS, and BBA levels. He has served as a PhD examiner or board member in Colombia, India, and Pakistan, a PhD comprehensive examination question setter and examiner in Mexico, and supervised five high-performing capstone projects.

His academic achievements include High Distinction marks in PhD coursework, MS, MBA, and BBA studies, seven merit-based scholarships and awards, including the Monash Research Merit Scholarship and INCEIF President’s Scholarship, and nominations for Monash’s Mollie Holman Award and Vice-Chancellor’s Commendation for PhD Thesis Excellence. His research examines how geopolitical, macroeconomic, and climate-related risks influence financial markets, institutions, and corporate decision-making.
