Literacy Faculty
Our faculty are influential in setting the national agenda of improving the success of children through research, school and district-wide interventions, serving on boards, consulting, and authoring textbooks for pre-service and in-service teachers. The faculty are engaged in improving instruction in urban schools through projects as well as working with other school districts across the nation. Books are authored and edited by our faculty, such as Literacy in Times of Crisis and Battle of Bans: Narratives on Reading and Engaging with Banned Books. The Literacy faculty is widely published in a variety of scholarly journals such as: Journal of Adolescent and Adult Literacy, Literacy Research & Instruction, Journal of Literacy Research, The Reading Teacher, Journal of Latinos in Education, Urban Review, Multicultural Perspectives, Qualitative Research Journal, Curriculum Inquiry, and Curriculum & Teaching Dialogue.
