Accelerated Bachelor’s/Master’s (ABM) Program
The Mechanical Engineering Accelerated Bachelor’s/Master’s (ABM) program allows qualified undergraduates to earn up to 12 credit hours toward completion of both bachelor’s and master’s degrees simultaneously. Please see the Undergraduate Catalog for qualifications for acceptance into the ABM program.
The admission process for mechanical engineering undergraduates must be completed during the Spring semester prior to the semester when students will take Senior Design I.
- The student and their academic advisor will verify that ABM Request Form is completed with 6000-7000 courses the student would like to enroll in during the subsequent Fall semester. The student needs to sign the form.
- The student’s academic advisor will email the Graduate Program Coordinator indicating their approval for the student to be admitted into the ABM program. The academic advisor should direct the student to meet with the Graduate Program Coordinator.
- The Graduate Program Coordinator will review the completed ABM Request Form, answer any questions regarding the ABM program, and discuss the student’s interest in graduate certificates and graduate school. The Graduate Program Coordinator will email the Undergraduate Program Coordinator indicating approval for the student to be admitted into the ABM program
- The student will submit the completed ABM Request Form to the Undergraduate Program Coordinator who will verify eligibility requirements and ensure the student’s plan will satisfy BS graduation requirements. Following the review, the Undergraduate Program Coordinator will sign the ABM Request Form as the ‘advisor’ and submit the signed form to the graduation analyst.
- The student and their academic advisor will verify the ABM Request Form form is completed with 6000-7000 courses the student will take during the Spring semester and email the undergraduate coordinator indicating their approval for the student to continue in the ABM program. The student needs to sign the form.
- The student will submit the completed ABM Request Form to the Undergraduate Program Coordinator who verify the student is has continued to meet eligibility requirements to continue in the program and ensure the student’s plan will satisfy BS in Mechanical Engineering graduation requirements. Following the review, the Undergraduate Program Coordinator will sign the ABM Request Form as the ‘advisor’ and submit the signed form to the graduation analyst.
