About Melanie Jacobs
Melaine Jacobs teaches undergraduate intro level clinical and skills courses. She received a Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) from Arkansas Tech University and a Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN) from the University of Memphis. The completion of her MSN with an emphasis on nursing education builds on past experience in critical care, emergency, and transplant nursing.
Ms. Jacobs particular interest in nursing education is the use of active learning techniques in helping students to develop a focus that is truly centered on the patient. She has served on a variety of college committees including curriculum, faculty affairs, technology, student affairs, and Undergraduate Council and is currently the Vice-President for the local chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International.
Her community service activities include volunteering in refugee ministries with World Relief and participating in music and children's ministries at her church.
