Associate editor for Innovation in Aging

Headshot of Dr. YangApril 2025- Launched in January 2017, Innovation in Aging is an interdisciplinary, open access journal of the Gerontological Society of America (GSA). The mission of the journal is to publish innovative, conceptually sound, methodologically rigorous research on aging and the life course that has high potential for translating scientific knowledge to improve older adults’ health, functioning, and well-being.

Dr. Yong Yang was selected as an Associate Editor in recognition of their research on the impact of social determinants of health — particularly transportation, neighborhoods, and the built environment — on various health outcomes among older adults. This appointment also reflects their methodological expertise in systems science approaches, including agent-based modeling. In this role, they are responsible for supervising the review of manuscripts within these areas.
