How to Use the UofM Online Catalog

Use this guide to find degree requirements, course descriptions and academic program information in the UofM Online Catalog based on your catalog year.

Which Catalog Year Should I Use?

When accessing the UofM Online Catalog to review degree requirements or course descriptions, the catalog year should match the year you first enrolled at the University of Memphis.

REMINDER! Whenever you access the online catalog, the year of the catalog must match the year that you first ENROLLED at the UofM, even if the catalog is listed as "archived".

  • Example:
    • The Fall 2024 semester has started, and Tom Tiger is entering his undergraduate junior year of college.
    • His freshmen year (or the first year that he was enrolled at the UofM) was when the Fall 2022 semester started.
    • Therefore, whenever Tom Tiger needs a refresher on his degree requirements or determines which courses to register for in the next semester, he will always refer to the 2022-2023 catalog, even if it is listed as "archived".

TIPS

  • Use the "My Portfolio" feature to save links, program descriptions, requirements and courses for future reference.

  • For minors and graduate certificates, students should use the current academic year's catalog rather than the catalog from their initial enrollment year.
