Our Mission
The University of Memphis Department of Journalism and Strategic Media is a learner-centered, professional program providing high-quality educational experiences while pursuing new knowledge through research, professional outreach, and engaged scholarship. The University of Memphis offers a masters degree in journalism online and on campus, catering to the needs of diverse students seeking flexibility and excellence in their educational journey. The program consists of 33 total hours, where students take 15 hours of core classes and then 18 hours in one of four emphases – News and Storytelling; Integrated Strategic Media; Visual Media; or Research.
