About Dr. Cogdal

Dr. Pam Cogdal is the CEPR Department Chair, Clinical Professor, Director of Counseling Programs and the Clinical Coordinator of Counseling Practice in the Department of Counseling, Educational Psychology and Research. Her role includes coordinating practicum and internship experiences for all counseling majors as well as teaching doctoral courses, supervising masters and doctoral students, managing CACREP accreditation & counseling program administrative duties.

Pam has taught in the programs of clinical mental health counseling and counseling psychology (Counseling Educational Psychology and Research) and has served as the Coordinator for Psychological Assessment in the Center for Rehabilitation and Employment Research (2002-2005).

Dr. Cogdal is a licensed psychologist/ health service provider (HSP) and an approved clinical supervisor (ACS). Previous to her academic post, Dr. Cogdal served as the Director and chief psychologist for the Center for Student Development (now the campus Counseling Center, A.P.A. Approved).Pam was Co-Director of a SAMSHA suicide campus prevention grant (Memphis STEPS!) from 2006-2013 and served on the West Tennessee Counseling Association's Executive Board 2014-2020.

Dr. Cogdal has contributed to a number of publications and national presentations related to career, counselor training, suicide prevention and currently serves as a member on the CEPR Brain Center.
