Kevin Kock, Au.D., MPH, CCC-A

Kevin Kock, Au.D., MPH, CCC-A is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the University of Memphis’ School of Communication Sciences and Disorders. He brings clinical, academic, and professional leadership experience to his work in audiology, with a particular interest in the intersection of communication health and public health. His work centers on preparing future audiologists to provide evidence-based care while developing the skills necessary to advocate for patients, communities, and the profession.

Dr. Kock brings clinical experience across the lifespan, with expertise in diagnostic audiology, hearing aids and amplification, and hearing conservation. His background in private practice and interdisciplinary healthcare informs his approach to clinical education, patient advocacy, accessibility, and improving communication health and quality of life.

His clinical, teaching, and professional interests include public health and audiology, health equity and access to care, legislative advocacy, disability, hearing healthcare, workforce development, and leadership. He is particularly interested in helping future audiologists understand that their role extends beyond the clinic and includes advocacy, community engagement, interprofessional collaboration, and leadership within the systems that shape healthcare.

Dr. Kock currently serves as Vice President for Audiology Practice on the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association’s Board of Directors and as a co-founder of the Men in CSD Men’s Constituency Caucus. Previously, he served as President and Treasurer of the Iowa Speech Language Hearing Association and as Chair of the Iowa Board of Speech Pathology and Audiology. Through these roles, he has contributed to strategic planning, leadership development, legislative advocacy, and professional policy.

Underlying Dr. Kock’s work is a commitment to improving quality of life through better communication and ensuring that individuals have both access to appropriate hearing healthcare and a voice in the systems that serve them. He is passionate about empowering future audiologists to become thoughtful clinicians, engaged advocates, and leaders who are prepared to advance the profession and improve communication health in their communities.
