Dr. Campbell Awarded the 2015 Thomas W. Briggs Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching Award

Dr. Douglas Campbell, instructor of Economics, was one of two recipients awarded the University-wide 2015 Thomas W. Briggs Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching Award. This is the fourth prestigious award that Dr. Campbell has received for his excellent teaching skills this year. He was also recently the recipient of the Honor’s Program’s Excellence in Teaching Award and the televised SPARK Award that celebrates individuals who are igniting change and making a difference in the community. Additionally, he was selected as Alpha Delta Pi’s Professor of the Year award. 

Due to his outstanding work as an educator, Dr. Campbell will be recognized at Convocation for his receipt of the Briggs Award. He will receive a monetary reward. Qualifications for this award include being a full-time faculty member at the University and currently teaching undergraduate courses.  

The selection committee was composed of recent University of Memphis alumni, faculty, and a representative of the Briggs Foundation. The administration of the award was coordinated with the backing from the office of the assistant Vice Provost for Academic Affairs.
