Biography
Dr. Shawn McFarland earned his PhD in finance from the University of Memphis in the Spring of 2020 with research interests in the areas of market microstructure and regulation as well as health care finance. After graduating Shawn taught finance at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX for two years prior to returning to the University of Memphis in the fall of 2022. His research has been presented at numerous conferences and by invitation to the Securities and Exchange Commission. Prior to earning his PhD, Shawn was a financial analyst for a health care system in Boise, ID. In his personal time Shawn enjoys spending time with his wife and four children.
