About Amr Mohamed

Dr. Amr Mohamed is an Assistant Professor of Teaching in the College of Health Sciences at the University of Memphis, bringing over a decade of experience in statistics and data analysis to his students and research.

Dr. Mohamed earned his doctorate in statistics from Western Michigan University under Dr. Kevin H. Lee, along with a certificate in biostatistics. He also holds a master's degree from the University of Essex (Colchester, UK) and a bachelor's degree in statistics from Benha University in Egypt.

Before joining the University of Memphis, Dr. Mohamed taught at a number of prestigious institutions around the world, including Western Michigan University, Miami Regional University, the National University of Singapore, and the American University in Cairo.

His research interests span a wide range of applied statistics and data analysis topics, including high-dimensional statistical analysis, statistical machine learning and data mining, variable selection, and classification and clustering. Much of his applied work is focused on biostatistics and health sciences, where he is passionate about using data to drive meaningful discoveries in the field.
