Bachelor of Science in Health Studies

Five concentrations within one degree — choose the one that matches where you're headed.

On Campus · Accelerated BS/MS

Build a foundation in food and nutrition, food science, the biological and physical sciences, research, management, and healthcare systems. Classroom learning plus applied experience prepares you for supervised practice and graduate study. Designed for students pursuing credentialing as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist.

Comprehensive study of exercise science, with coursework in kinesiology, physiology, biomechanics, motor behavior, and exercise program design. Ideal for students headed toward physical therapy, chiropractic medicine, or exercise science graduate study, or into personal training and strength and conditioning.

Grounded in health promotion and lifestyle medicine, with evidence-based strategies for health behavior change and disease prevention. Guided electives let you shape the degree toward allied health graduate study or careers in wellness coaching, worksite wellness, and public health.

Coursework in the healthcare environment, professionalism, leadership, business skills, and communication. Built for students headed into healthcare administration — hospitals, HMOs, long-term care — on the management side rather than the clinical side.

A heavy science foundation in biology, chemistry, nutrition, culinary medicine, and research, with electives to aim the degree at your goals. Best suited to students preparing for medical school (MD, DO) or nutrition science graduate study — if your goal is RDN credentialing, see Dietetics instead.

Bachelor of Science in Education

Two concentrations for future teachers and coaches.

On Campus · No Licensure

Instruction in coaching individual and team sports, athlete motivation, sport performance, administration and leadership, and officiating technique. Built for students headed into coaching at the youth, collegiate, or professional level. This concentration does not result in teaching licensure.

On Campus · K-12 Licensure

Coursework and student teaching that prepare you for licensure as a physical education and wellness teacher. Fully accredited and led by faculty nationally and internationally recognized for their teaching and scholarship.

Sport and Entertainment Management

A standalone bachelor's degree in the business of sport and live entertainment.

On Campus or Fully Online

Develop expertise in marketing, finance, promotions, governance, leadership, legal issues, and organizational management, with hands-on experience through applied learning. Prepares graduates for professional and collegiate sports, entertainment organizations, event management, sales, and sponsorship.

Enrich your current plan of study with coursework in nutrition and wellness. Open to all students regardless of major.

24 Hours · All Majors

Lecture and activity-based courses covering the core concepts of personal training, structured to prepare you to sit for professional certification exams. Open to all students regardless of major.

Prepares you to work as a medical assistant on a healthcare team. Especially valuable if you're headed to graduate study in a medical field, where documented patient contact hours strengthen an application.

24 Hours · ALL MAJORS

Builds the knowledge and practical skills to sit for the Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) exam. From January 2030, only graduates of CASCE-accredited programs will be eligible. Available to students in the Exercise, Sport & Movement Sciences concentration.

18 Hours · All Majors

Explore tourism operations, destination marketing, sustainability, and cultural experiences while building skills in customer service, destination planning, and responsible tourism. Pairs with a range of majors and leads toward tourism, hospitality, events, recreation, and destination management.

18 Hours · All Majors

Study the business, marketing, events, media, management, and culture of the esports industry while developing skills in leadership, strategic planning, fan engagement, and event operations. Pairs with a range of majors and leads toward esports, gaming, sport, entertainment, and tech careers.
