About Angela Johnson
Angela Johnson joined the College of Health and Human Sciences in 2017, immediately after completing her master’s degree in health promotion, first as an Academic Services Coordinator and then as an academic advisor for Health Studies students. She now moves into the classroom as Assistant Professor of Teaching.
Her passion has always been health and wellness, and her background in wellness coaching, personal training, Pilates coaching, and corporate wellness shapes how she teaches. During her undergraduate program at UC Davis, she was also a full-time student athletic trainer working with sports teams. Together, these experiences give her a practical, applied perspective that connects course content to the work students will do after graduation.
Her years of advising give her a close understanding of the Health Studies student journey, including the needs of students who plan to pursue graduate education. In the classroom, she brings the same approach she used as an advisor: listening to students, understanding their needs, and equipping them with the information and support to make informed decisions and reach their educational and career goals.
