University of Memphis Industrial Assessment Center (Jeffrey G. Marchetta)

The University of Memphis Industrial Assessment Center Program is part of the Tennessee 3-Star Industrial Assessment Center (IAC) which has been active since 2008.  The IAC is a federally sponsored industrial energy efficiency program provided by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE).  The University of Memphis IAC Center provides no-cost studies of manufacturing plants across West Tennessee, North Mississippi, and Eastern Arkansas. Engineering & Technology students perform studies analyzing a plant’s energy, waste, and productivity issues. In addition, the IAC provides an educational opportunity to engineering students through on-site plant visits, data analysis, and technical report writing.  On average, recommended actions from an assessment result in annual cost savings of $55,000.
