University of Memphis to Hold Spring Commencement May 4
Spring Commencement ceremonies for the University of Memphis will take place Saturday, May 4, 2024, at the FedEx Forum, with 2,858 students receiving a degree or certificate. Former Tigers football player Stephen Gostkowski, who played in the National Football League for 15 seasons, will be the commencement speaker

UofM Honors 2024 Faculty Award Recipients
The University of Memphis recognized its 2024 Faculty Award recipients on Thursday in the Maxine A. Smith University Center. Dr. Sanjay R. Mishra received the Willard R. Sparks Eminent Faculty Award — the highest distinction given to a faculty member by the UofM.

Innovative School District to Launch at UofM
The University Schools education model at the University of Memphis is poised to scale up following today’s passage of the Innovative School District Act in the Tennessee General Assembly. Sponsored by Sen. Brent Taylor and Rep. Mark White, the act authorizes the UofM to operate a local education agency as an Innovative School District, the first of its kind in the state.

UofM College of Education Names New Dean
The University of Memphis College of Education named higher education veteran Michael T. Miller as its new dean. With a career in higher education spanning nearly four decades, Miller comes to the UofM from the University of Arkansas, where he is the David and Jane Gearhart Endowed Faculty Fellow.
