Bluff City Cello Ensemble 

This prestigious small ensemble performs a variety of solo and ensemble works for cello.  The ensemble features University of Memphis undergraduate and graduate cello students.

The Bluff City Cello Ensemble draws from solo, chamber music and orchestra performance techniques through a focus on collaboration. 

Since its debut in 2016, the Bluff City Cello Ensemble has developed a wide repertoire in a variety of styles and settings — with music ranging from Bruno Mars to Debussy.  

The Bluff City Cello Ensemble is active in the community, performing at the National Civil Rights Museum, Target House - St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and the Tennessee Music Education Association State Conference. In 2019, the Bluff City Cello Ensemble played the national anthem for the NBA Grizzlies in front of 18,000 fans.
