Our New Destination for The Arts Is Underway

The University of Memphis and the entire Mid-South are eagerly awaiting the start of construction on the Scheidt Family Music Center at the Rudi E. Scheidt School of Music. Not only will the Center provide much-needed facilities for School initiatives, it will allow us to continue building upon our relationships with other arts programs in Memphis by hosting many of their performances on our campus.

Currently, the project's design team, Memphis-based firms Archimania and Fleming Architects and Chicago-based theater designer Schuler Shook, is nearing completion of final plans and construction will begin soon after that.

Your Support Will Change The Face Of Music In Memphis

With the completion of the new Scheidt Family Music Center, the School of Music will be able to offer a state-of-the-art facility to serve our students and the surrounding community. The opening of this facility will provide more stage space, high-capacity seating, exceptional acoustics, rehearsal spaces, classrooms and modern laboratories. As the only doctoral degree-granting Music program in Tennessee, the Rudi E. Scheidt School of Music sets the standard for music education in the Mid-South. The new Music Center will be an appropriate showcase for our extraordinary students and will assist us in attracting the highest-caliber talent to our University.

You can still join the over 200 friends, faculty and staff who have already contributed to this exciting project. Even though the project is well underway, it is not too late for you to become a part of the supporters who have already contributed toward our goal.
