About Dr. Wilson

Dr. Wilson currently teaches full-time as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the undergraduate and Executive MSN program. Courses she has taught include Gerontological Nursing Didactic & Practicum, Professional Nursing Seminar, Health Assessment Lab, Foundational Nursing Skills, and Transitions into Professional Nursing Practice Didactic & Practicum. She has been the course coordinator for the Gerontological Nursing Practicum course and is the course coordinator for the Community Health Practicum. In the Executive MSN program she has taught Advanced Role Development and is currently teaching Health Care Finance and Health Care Finance Practicum.

Dr. Wilson holds a BSN from the Loewenberg School of Nursing and an MSN in Clinical Research Management and a DNP in Executive Leadership from Vanderbilt University. She is a member of the Tennessee Nurses Association (TNA), American Nurses Association, and Sigma Theta Tau International. Dr. Wilson has expanded her nursing knowledge through her nursing practice. She has worked as a bedside nurse in cardiac stepdown and CVICU at Methodist Le Bonheur Germantown Hospital. Her physician office experience includes being a staff infusion nurse at a neurology clinic, a clinical research coordinator at Stern Cardiovascular Center, and a senior clinical research coordinator at Memphis Heart Clinic.

She has also worked in the private sector as an assistant project manager at Acorn Research, LLC. Wilson's nursing passions include cardiac care and clinical research.  Wilson has co-authored a paper titled "Chronic Conditions: A Motivator for Reexamining the Effectiveness of Promotions and Communications of Organizational Wellness Programs." The paper was presented at the Joint Conferences of the International Conference on Learning and Administration in Higher Education and the Academic Business World International Conference in Nashville in May 2017. The paper won a Best Paper Award. She co-authored a manuscript titled  "College of Nursing Sponsored Research Forum to Promote Student Scholarship Development" in the Journal of Nursing Education in March 2021.
