About Tasma Robertson

Dr. Robertson works as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) in Correctional Medicine.  Prior to her full-time appointment with University of Memphis, Dr. Robertson served as an adjunct faculty member for undergraduate students at University of Memphis- Lambuth.  Currently, Dr. Robertson teaches in undergraduate clinical courses, as well as graduate FNP clinical courses on both campuses. Her professional history includes oncology nursing, interventional radiology, and correctional medicine

Her research focus has been on improving care of male offenders with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (DM) in a correctional setting.  Her education includes an Associates of Science Degree in Nursing (ASN)- Dyersburg State Community College; Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN)-National American University; Masters of Science in Nursing-Family Nurse Practitioner (MSN-FNP)-University of Memphis; Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)- University of South Alabama with specialization in oncology.

Dr. Robertson currently serves on the Loewenberg College of Nursing Curriculum Committee and Diversity and Inclusion Committee.  She is a member of the Tennessee Nurse Practitioner Association, American Association of Nurse Practitioners, and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

She enjoys spending time with her husband, Ozell Jr., two children, and two grandchildren.
