The Loewenberg College of Nursing (LCON) proudly congratulates Dr. Jeremy Whittaker, Associate Dean of Student Success and Graduate Professor, on his selection as a 2025 Fellow in the Executive Leadership Institute (HBCU ELI) at Clark Atlanta University. Recognized as one of the nation’s premier leadership fellowships, this prestigious program prepares future executive leaders for Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), equipping them with the strategic, financial, and leadership skills necessary to navigate the evolving landscape of higher education.

Now in its fifth year, HBCU ELI provides a rigorous learning experience through a combination of virtual and residency-based seminars led by distinguished HBCU leaders, scholars, and industry experts. Fellows gain hands-on experience in institutional leadership, financial stewardship, and academic innovation. Recent partnership efforts with the Bloomberg Foundation and Harvard University have heightened the program’s strategic efforts as well.

“It’s humbling to be selected to be selected for the 2025 HBCU ELI Community of Fellows,” Dr. Whittaker said. “This esteemed program presents an incredible opportunity to strengthen my leadership skills and collaborate with like-minded colleagues who are committed to advancing HBCUs and higher education as a whole. I look forward to applying these insights to further support LCON’s mission and student success.” Specifically, I believe participation could lead to potential opportunities for institutional partnerships related to enrollment, scholarship, and service.

LCON Dean Dr. Linda Haddad praised Dr. Whittaker’s selection, emphasizing the impact of his leadership within the college. “Dr. Whittaker’s dedication to student success has been instrumental in shaping our academic support services and fostering a culture of excellence at LCON,” said Dr. Haddad. “His participation in the HBCU ELI program will not only enhance his leadership journey but also bring invaluable insights that will benefit our students, faculty, and institutional growth.”

Throughout his career, Dr. Whittaker has played a pivotal role in strengthening student support initiatives, building partnerships, and advancing LCON’s commitment to academic excellence. His participation in this distinguished fellowship further positions him to drive innovation and expand opportunities for students and faculty alike.

The Loewenberg College of Nursing remains committed to fostering leadership and excellence in nursing education. Dr. Whittaker’s selection as an HBCU ELI Fellow is a testament to his dedication, and we look forward to seeing the impact of his involvement in this transformative program.
