Banner 9 Effort Certification Implementation

Project Scope:
The Federal Government requires that each employee whose salary (or portion of salary) is charged to a Federal grant certify that the amount that the Government is billed for his/her work is reasonable in reltion to the work that the employee actually performed. The procedures involved in doing so typcially are called "effort certification".

Effort reporting is the process by which the University determines and documents the effort expended on sponsored agreements during each reporting period. Effort is the relative amount of time spent on a particular activity and it includes time spent working on a sponsored project in which salary is directly charged or contributed. Employees compensated in whole or in part by sponsored agreements must verify their effort.

UofM will implement the Banner 9 Effort Reporting module for Fall 2022 reporting.
