Memphis Neuroscience Symposium
Second annual gathering of neuroscientists from across the UofM and other institutions in the Memphis area.
We are thrilled to announce the second annual The Memphis Neuroscience Symposium (MNS), a gathering of neuroscientists from across the University of Memphis and other institutions in the Memphis area. By facilitating intellectual and experimental collaboration across disciplines, we aim to establish the UofM as a national hub for cutting-edge neuroscience research!
Last year’s inaugural event was a momentous success, and we are excited to announce that the 2024 MNS will take place on April 18-19 at the University Center Bluff Room at the U of M main campus. Proceedings will begin with a social reception on April 18, 5-7 p.m. at Urban Consequence Brewery, followed by a full-day (8:30a.m.-5 p.m.) event on the 19th.
This event will feature two keynote lectures: Dr. Rita Goldstein from Mt. Sinai, an international leader in drug addiction and neuroimaging research, and Dr. Lynn Dobrunz, the new chair of anatomy and Neurobiology at UTHSC. There will also be five local speakers from four different U of M departments and a student poster session with cash awards.
In addition, multiple national vendors will be in attendance to discuss their products with local investigators. We encourage all faculty and students who study the brain, physiology, and behavior to attend. The conference and reception are both free of charge, including lunch, snacks, and beverages.
This conference is sponsored by a CoRS grant from the UofM Division of Research & Innovation, as well as donations from vendors and departments.
