Dr. Eddie Jacobs, professor, electrical computer engineering, senior researcher in Center for Applied Earth Science and Engineering Research (CAESER), was awarded $8,294,867 from the Office of Naval Research (ONR) for his project “UxS Degraded Environment Facility”.
 
Dr. Rouzbeh Nazari, chair and professor, department of Civil Engineering, was awarded $963,237 from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) for his project “Catalyzing Local Food Value Chain Development through a Cross-functional Alliance and Economic Investment in Birmingham, Alabama”.
 
Dr. Daniel Foti, assistant professor; graduate program coordinator, department of Mechanical Engineering, was awarded $400,000 from Office of Naval Research (ONR) for his project “Cavitation Erosion: Scaling Analysis and Characterization”.
 
Dr. Chrisann Schiro-Geist, professor in the department of Counseling, Educational Psychology & Research, was awarded $349,978 from U.S. Department of Education (US DoEd) for his project “Topic Area 6: Project FIRST (Finding Innovative Rehabilitation Services Training)”.
 
Dr. Olayinka Mohorn-Mintah, assistant professor in the department Instruction and Curriculum Leadership (ICL), was awarded $252,486 from the National Science Foundation (NSF) for his project “Collaborative Research: Racial Equity: Addressing Racialized Inequities in STEMM through the Reallocation of Resources across the STEMM Learning Ecosystem”.
 
Dr. Fanta Gutema, assistant professor of research in the school of Public Health, was awarded $234,512 from Reckitt Global Hygiene Institute (RGHI) for his project “Genomic Fingerprinting of Enteric and Antimicrobial Resistant Bacteria at the Hygiene and One Health Interface for Tracking Disease Transmission in Urban and Peri Urban Bishoftu town, Ethiopia”.
 
Dr. John Sabatini, Distinguished Research Professor in the Department of Psychology and the Institute for Intelligent Systems, was awarded $216,422 from U.S. Department of Education (US DoEd) for his project “Developing and implementing a technology-based, reading comprehension instruction system for adult literacy students”.
 
Dr. Alfred Hall, assistant dean in the College of Education, was awarded $201,897 from National Science Foundation (NSF) for his project “IPA - Dr. Alfred Hall”.
 
Dr. Vasile Rus, Jack and Jane Morris Professor in the department of Computer Science, was awarded $199,372 from U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) for his project “Advancing Competency Training With Recent Developments in Artificial Intelligence, Learning Engineering, and Learning Sciences”.
 
Dr. Bernie Daigle, associate professor in the department of Biological Sciences, was awarded $191,551 from the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD)for his project “Advancing Precision Psychiatry for Military Service-Related PTSD by Enhancing Knowledge of Clinical Subtypes and their Endophenotypes”.
 
Dr. Subhash Jha, associate professor, George Johnson Research Fellow in Marketing at the Fogelman College of Business & Economics, awarded $191,163 from National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) for his project “Comparative Analysis of Reduced Distracted Driving Among Shelby County Adolescents from 2023 to 2025”.
 
Dr. Sabyasachee Mishra, professor of Civil Engineering and the Director of CEAT and C-TIER research centers at FedEx Institute of Technology, was awarded $175,242 from National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA)  for his project “Implementation Strategies to Reduce Alcohol-Impaired Motor Vehicle Crashes in Tennessee”.
 
Dr. Hai Trieu, director of Technology Commercialization in the FedEx Institute of Technology, was awarded $80,000 from Launch Tennessee for his project “Tennessee Technological Advancement Consortium (TTAC) Pilot”.
 
Dr. Mohammadreza Davoodi, assistant professor in the department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, was awarded $76,819 from National Science Foundation (NSF) for his project “Intelligent control systems for soft artificial muscles”.
 
Dr. Wesley James, founding executive director of the Center for Community Research and Evaluation (CCRE), chair of the Department of Sociology, Pat E. Burlison Professor in the Department of Sociology, and faculty affiliate in the School of Public Health Division of Social and Behavioral Sciences, was awarded $70,288 from Urban Institute for his project “Evaluating Effects of Non-Cognitive Competency Trajectories on Economic Mobility Using Data from Promise Neighborhoods”.
 
Dr. M. David Rudd, distinguished professor of Psychology, was awarded $58,716 from the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) for his project “Web-Based Provider Training for Brief Cognitive Behavior Therapy (BCBT) for Suicide Prevention”.
 
Dr. James Adelman, associate professor in the department of Biological Studies, was awarded $53,000 from National Science Foundation (NSF) for his project “GRFP: Do behavioral types predict pathogen spread via suppressed sickness behaviors?”
 
Dr. Robin Lennon-Dearing, professor in the department of Social work, was awarded $48,058 from Gilead Foundation for her project “Trans Sex Worker Project.”
 
Dr. James McCutcheon, associate professor and graduate coordinator in the department of Criminology and Criminal Justice, was awarded $38,747 from U.S. Department of Justice (US DoJ) for his project “Evaluation of Sexual Assault Kit Testing.”
 
Dr. Janey Camp, research professor and associate director of Adaptation and Resilience for the Center for Applied Earth Science and Engineering Research (CAESER), was awarded $36,171 from National Science Foundation (NSF) for her project “FW-HTF-P: Integrating Practitioner Knowledge and Technology for the Future of Water Treatment.”
 
Dr. Carolyn Kaldon, research associate professor in the The Center for Research in Educational Policy (CREP), was awarded $34,587 from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) for her project “From High School to Health Care: Lab and Data Science Pathways for Success.”
 
Dr. James Adelman, associate professor in the department of Biological Sciences, was awarded $24,993 from National Institutes of Health (NIH) for his project “Ecological and evolutionary causes and consequences of host heterogeneity induced by prior exposure.”
 
Dr. Joseph Hafer, assistant professor in the Public and nonprofit administration, was awarded $17,440 from the Kentucky Division of Protection and Permanency (DCBS) for his project “Kentucky Central Intake Reformation Project.”
 
Dr. Kan Yang, associate professor in the department of Computer Science, was awarded $14,506 from National Science Foundation (NSF) for his project “CyberCorps: New Scholarships for Service (SFS) Program at the University of Memphis.”
 
Dr. Maxime Paquette, professor, coordinator in the College of Health Sciences, was awarded $11,689 from The Scholl's Wellness Company for his project “Influence of a custom fit orthotic on plantar pressures during walking.”
 
Dr. Emerson Bowers, associate professor in the department of Biological Sciences, was awarded $1,949 from The American Ornithological Society for his project “Species interactions in the face of brood parasitism.”
