About Dr. Yu Wu

Dr. Yu Wu is a Research Assistant Professor at the Center for Research in Educational Policy (CREP) at The University of Memphis. With a wealth of experience, she specializes in designing quantitative research studies, including Randomized Control Trials, Quasi-Experimental Design, and non-experimental design. Dr. Wu excels in developing scales for effective data collection and applying advanced quantitative modeling techniques, such as multilevel structural equation modeling, multilevel hierarchical linear modeling, latent profile analysis, and meta-analysis. She also holds two research certificates—one in Advanced Applied Statistical Analysis (for quantitative methods) and another in Advanced International Education Data Analysis (for qualitative methods). In her dissertation, Dr. Wu utilized an international large-scaled database Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) 2018 with the multilevel moderated mediation method to unravel the complex dynamics of teachers' behaviors within the context of the relationship between school instructional leadership and student learning. Beyond her dissertation, her research delves into how teachers' professional learning experience and job attitudes may be influenced differently by school leadership practices in suburban and urban schools.

Currently, she serves as a Co-PI for external evaluation on a five-year Advancing School Counseling Program by Increasing Representation and Experience (ASPIRE) program, preparing professional school counselors for K-12 schools. She also participates in Project Inspiring New Koncepts (Project INK) to support data analysis with the RCT design. Acknowledged as a University Council Educational Administration (UCEA) 2022 David Clark Scholar, Dr. Wu demonstrates her contributions and commitment to advancing research in the educational leadership area. Dr. Wu received her Ph.D. from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 2023.
