Biography

Tulasiram Nepal is currently pursuing his PhD in Economics at the Fogelman College of Business & Economics, the University of Memphis. His educational journey includes an MA in economics from Tribhuvan University of Nepal (2014), followed by his engagement as a Microeconomics instructor for undergraduate students. He has worked on various research projects, supported by institutions including the Government of Nepal, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), The International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD), and the Asia Foundation in Nepal, in collaboration with local research institutions. His contributions for these institutions have primarily revolved around investigating various facets of Nepali migrant workers, with a special focus on those in Gulf Countries and impact evaluation of project interventions. He currently serves as a Graduate Assistant, working with Prof. Joaquin Lopez and Dr. Jake Organ. As for his future academic pursuits, he aims to specialize in microeconomics and applied microeconometrics, particularly within the fields of Health Economics, Economics of Education, and Labor Economics.
