Herff Senior Design Expo

The Herff College of Engineering’s annual Senior Design event showcases the innovation, creativity and real-world problem-solving skills of our graduating engineering students. In 2024, Herff launched an interdisciplinary, college-wide Senior Design showcase that brings together all five engineering departments to highlight student achievements and present their projects to industry partners, sponsors, faculty and the University of Memphis community.

Senior Design is a two-semester capstone sequence running from August to April. Teams of students develop a new engineering product from initial concept to design, manufacturing and marketing. This hands-on experience integrates key engineering principles, builds collaboration skills and prepares graduates for careers in a variety of engineering fields.
