Composition Admission Requirements

Composition – Undergraduate

• Audition: Undergraduate Music Composition applicants are required to audition on a primary instrument. Review the audition requirements for your instrument/voice here.
• Portfolio: Undergraduate applicants are welcome but not required to submit a portfolio for review by our Composition Faculty.
• Interview: Group Interview sessions will occur on our audition event days. Alternatively, students may interview during an individual or virtual audition appointment.

Composition - Graduate

• Portfolio: Graduate applicants are required to submit a portfolio of 1-3 representative works, both in PDF and MP3 format. Live recordings are encouraged but MIDI realizations are acceptable. 
• Interview: Group Interview sessions will occur on our audition event days. Alternatively, students may interview during an individual or virtual audition appointment.
