Tiger Welcome is your official start as a Memphis Tiger. It's a week full of energy, connection and new beginnings. Join your fellow new students to explore the University of Memphis, discover campus traditions, attend exciting events, and start building your community from day one.
Happening the week before classes and continuing into the first week, Tiger Welcome is designed to help you feel confident, connected, and ready for what’s ahead.

Kick off your journey at the University of Memphis with Memphis Night, an energetic, music-filled bingo experience in the Tiger Den. Instead of numbers, you’ll match songs from today’s hits to throwback favorites while competing for fun prizes.
With lively hosts, great music and themed snacks from campus dining, it’s the perfect way to meet new friends and dive into campus life. Whether you’re brand new or just looking to connect, Memphis Night is your chance to have fun, feel the Tiger spirit, and start making unforgettable memories.

The Walk: Bridge Your Future and the President’s Picnic

Join your fellow new Tigers for one of the most meaningful traditions at the University of Memphis! Gather at the R. Brad Martin Student Wellness Center and walk across the Hunter Harrison Memorial Bridge, a powerful symbol of your transition into college life, with faculty and staff cheering you on as you arrive.
After the Walk: Bridge Your Future, head to the Luther C. McClellan Alumni Lawn for the President’s Picnic. This signature Tiger Welcome event brings the campus community together for food, fun and a warm Memphis welcome you won’t forget.
Mighty South of the South Preview Show

Kick off your Tiger journey with the first Fight Song of the season! Join the University of Memphis Mighty Sound of the South Marching Band for a high-energy preview show and learn the chants, cheers and songs you’ll hear in the stadium all season long.

Ready to be a Memphis Tiger? Frosh Frenzy is your moment! Join the University of Memphis for food trucks, music and big Tiger energy. Meet Memphis Athletics teams, learn the Tiger Spell Out and Tiger Stroll, and kick off your college experience in style. Join in to be a part of the Class of 2030’s official class photo.
Jurassic Paws: Rec Fest

First Year Find

Start strong at the University of Memphis with First Year Find! Meet the Frosh Camp team in front of the Tom III Statue on the Alumni Mall at noon with your class schedule in hand for grab-and-go snacks and a guided campus walking tour. You’ll explore campus, find your classrooms and build confidence for day one so you’re ready to hit the ground running.
