Fall 2026 

Orientation for F-1 Students

August 17 - 21, 2026

The F-1 student orientation is MANDATORY for all new F-1 students. At orientation, we will go over important F-1 regulations as well as resources at the University of Memphis. Failure to attend the orientation may result in delay of SEVIS registration and impact your F-1 record negatively. See below for a brief agenda and activities that we prepare for you. 

It is also mandatory for all students to complete the Online Orientation before August 16. The online orientation topics are divided into modules, some of which include a short quiz to help you reinforce your understanding of the material. The online orientation will be in your Canvas under the course name “NSO-1000-M81 New Student Orientation – Fall Term 2026”.

 

August 17 (Monday)
9am-12pm/ International Center 

• Wellfleet Insurance Session (9am-12pm, International Center Student lounge)
• TB Skin Test (Health Center, appointments are recommended. Walk-ins are accepted from 8am–12pm, though you may experience a longer wait.)

August 18 (Tuesday) 
9am-4pm/  International Center 

• Campus Tour (9-10am, Meet in front of the International Center lobby, Registration Required)
• TB Skin Test (Health Center, appointments are recommended. Walk-ins are accepted from 9am–12pm, though you may experience a longer wait.)
• ISS/F-1 Information Mandatory (1-4pm, International Center Room 115)

August 19 (Wednesday) 
9am-4pm/  International Center 

• TB Skin Test (Health Center, appointments are recommended. Walk-ins are accepted from 8am–12pm, though you may experience a longer wait.)
