About
Katey Perkins graduated from Tennessee Tech University in Cookeville, TN with a B.S. in Management Information Systems in 2010. After spending 5 years in the Information Technology industry working as an IS Analyst, Software Trainer, and IT Project Manager, she moved from Nashville to Memphis to pursue her dream of becoming a documentary filmmaker. Her goal at The University of Memphis is to enhance her ability to create compelling and entertaining nonfiction stories. In particular, her topics of interest include substance abuse and recovery, mental health, and Southern U.S. culture and history.
