MarySarah "Alice" Reid
MA GRADUATE STUDENT, DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNICATION
About
A Southern California native, Alice Reid moved to Tennessee in June 2016 after graduating from California State University, Long Beach with a B.A. in Communication Studies, emphasis in interpersonal and organizational communication. During her time at CSULB, she had the opportunity to work as a peer mentor, assisting students enrolled in Communication classes, both core and elective. She recently returned from a month-long study abroad in Florence, Italy, where she studied paradigmatic change and scientific revolutions through the work of Galileo and Kuhn, excited to apply that knowledge to her future research. Having left the Los Angeles music scene where she worked as a session vocalist, she is looking forward to getting involved locally with other jazz and blues musicians. While working towards her M.A. at the University of Memphis, Alice plans to focus on expanding her knowledge of quantitative research methods, and is thrilled to have the opportunity to work and study along side her peers and professors.
