Harper receives Susan Te Paske "See Me" Award

The Susan Te Paske "See Me" Award, is given to "professors who go above and beyond to make their classrooms an inclusive and accessible environment for students with disabilities."

From a field of around 15 nominees, Trent Harper, Coordinator and assistant professor of Teaching, was selected for this honor! From his nomination letter:

In my experience with this Professor, he has always gone above and beyond to listen to mine and other students’ concerns, help me utilize university resources to meet my educational needs, and been a clear mentor and role model for me as I navigate my disability status as a student...when my professor detected that something was out of character, he was attentive, directly asked me if I was okay, and immediately responded in what was the most comprehensive way I have ever seen before...I am humbled and cannot express enough gratitude for his quick thinking, acute empathy, and professionalism.

This year 4 faculty from CSD were nominated:
Dr. Jennifer P. Taylor, Audiology
Mrs. Alene White, ASL
Mr. Trent Harper, ASL
Dr. Tina Childress, ASL

We are terrifically proud of all of your for living our School's values in a way that is making a significant difference in the lives of our students. Congratulations!
