Events & Open Houses (Fall 2022)
Departments provide opportunities each semester for socializing, asking questions, meeting faculty, and information sessions for both majors and non-majors. All seminars and lectures are free and open to all students.
Department of English
The English Department will have an Open House on Oct 5, from 3:30 to 5:30 PM in Patterson Hall, room 456.
Find out why English majors are in demand, and what the English Department can offer YOU! Not only will you meet current English majors and speak with your future professors, but you’ll learn about:
- our six diverse concentrations
- study abroad programs
- internship and career opportunities
- Honors in English
- and much more!
The Department of Mathematical Sciences is inviting incoming freshmen, transfer students, and all STEM students for its Annual Open House on October 7th from 12:45 to 2 p.m. in Dunn Hall 249. There will be pizza, refreshments, and cookies. There will be a short presentation about the department’s programs and opportunities. This is also an opportunity to ask questions, meet and network with faculty, other math majors and graduate students.
School of Social Work
The School of Social Work is hosting a Virtual Open House for all. Students are encouraged to attend this event to meet the social work faculty and hear more about the undergraduate social work program. We will discuss program admission, expectations, and student success. Social work faculty will share their engaged scholarship and provide more information on ways we prepare you for professional social work practice. We hope to see all interested students, pre-social work, and social work with a shared goal and commitment to generalist social work practice.
