Events & Open Houses (Fall 2021)
Departments provide opportunities each semester for socializing, asking questions, meeting faculty, and information sessions for both majors and non-majors. All seminars and lectures are free and open to all students. Masks are required.
The Department of Computer Science will hold an Open House on Friday, September 17, from 11:30 am-12:30 pm in Dunn Hall 123. Come talk to faculty and current students about opportunities in the major and after graduation. Light refreshments will be served.
The Department of History will be hosting their annual Ice Cream Social on will be October 22nd from 12:30-1:30. We’ll have tables for our student groups and the advisors will be available to talk about the major and the minor.
The Department of Mathematical Sciences is hosting an Open House Informational Session Friday, September 17 from 12:45 - 2:00 pm in Dunn Hall 249. We will have food (including pizza). Fellow students, grad students, and faculty will be on hand to provide information about our programs. You can learn why MATH and STAT majors are two of the most employable majors; about our Second Major for STEM students, which provides a streamlined method for getting two majors; and about our student organization, the Cantor Sect.
Physics and Materials Science
The Department of Physics and Materials Science will present an Open House in Manning Hall on Friday, October 15 from 2 to 5 p.m.
The Department of Social Work will hold two events this fall for students, faculty and staff. Social Work students (or those interested in the discipline) are encouraged to attend.
