Biography

Satish Mehra, Professor of Production Operations Management (POM), is an active researcher and teacher of the Operations Management field. His expertise spreads over various areas in the POM field that includes Productivity, Quality, Strategy, and Competitiveness issues. Dr. Mehra is a certified member of the American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS) and a Certified JONAH of the Goldratt Institute in the Theory of Constraints. Dr. Mehra is widely published with over 160 publications in National and International journals as well as a variety of proceedings. He serves as an editorial reviewer for many scholarly journals. Over the years, he has held numerous leadership positions in professional societies. Dr. Mehra was the winner of the 1993 Shingo Prize for Excellence in Research on Manufacturing Techniques using Japanese Philosophy. In 1996, he was ranked as one of the top 50 scholars in the field of Production Operations Management and he served as a Fulbright Fellow for the 1996-97 year. He was awarded the Palmer Research Professorship at U of M in 2006-07.
