The name of this organization shall be the Coalition of Black Social Workers-University of Memphis Chapter. The acronym is CBSW-UM.
Mission
The mission of the Coalition of Black Social Workers is as follows: The Coalition of Black Social Workers exists to engage, connect, and empower Black social work students and professionals in the community, with the goal of increasing awareness about issues specific to the Black community and cultivating a network of support.

CBSW-UM is looking for student leaders dedicated to active pursuit of the mission and goals of the Coalition of Black Social Workers. CBSW emphases Black Excellence in person and practice. We need leadership today who will support the vision for tomorrow. CBSW-UM members are encouraged to consider time and commitment in service to the Coalition of Black Social Workers. Members are invited to contact Faculty Advisor, Ms. Kenya Anderson, to discuss and explore leadership opportunities.

NOTE: In order to be eligible for and maintain an executive board position, the student must be in good academic standing with the School of Social Work and demonstrate commitment to the mission through engagement, practice,and service.
